Classes and Clubs


This is a basic bag-making class. Make a large tote bag with six outside pockets and handles and the preferred ByAnnie Soft & Stable batting. The easy cutting and construction will give you confidence to continue making more bags with a variety of beautiful patterns.

Join us at Prairie Point as we learn the basics of English Paper Piecing with 1 inch hexagons. Through this class you will learn how to prep the hexagons, tips and tricks for sewing them together, and how to create your very own Grandmother's Flower Quilt.

Make a baby blanket with super soft Cuddle and double gauze. You will learn tips on sewing with these fabrics and see some creative ways to use them. Barb will also show how to make the blanket with flannel.

This class offers the very basics to get you started in free motion quilting on your domestic sewing machine. You will learn tips and techniques that will make this experience go smoothly and free of frustration. Susan will offer her own personal experience to share with you. In this 2-session class you will learn how to make basic quilt blocks while learning about fabric selection, accurate rotary cutting, machine piecing, and basic techniques. Learn the technique that will allow any quilter to quickly, easily and accurately piece traditional Lemoyne Star blocks in 10 different sizes! The block units are strip pieced, assembled without using any Y seams, pieced so that the blocks themselves are slightly oversized so at the end each can be trimmed to an exact size.

Join Lisa Clark for lessons in hand embroidery and wool applique on the third Monday of every month. As a member of this twelve-month program created by Amy McClellan, you'll receive fifteen motif designs each month--a total of 180 designs!--to be appliqued onto wool hexagons. Get creative and embellish your hexagons using the embroidery skills you will learn in each session. You'll also receive two hexagon rulers, a monthly project pattern for putting your embroidered hexagons to use, monthly stitching guides, and a recipe to try at home.
