Double Dip Placemats - Lisa Clark

Make a double-sided placemat using a quick and easy method.  Choose fabric that matches your kitchen décor, find your favorite Christmas fabric, or just use those fun prints you love – these mats are sure to add some sweetness to your table.

Double Dip Pattern
Bosal In-R-Form Plus Unique Fusible Foam Stabilizer
Fabric (to make one placemat in class) Choose which style you will do.
   Style A - 10 strips for one side, 10 strips for other side, binding strips
   Style B—12 strips for one side, 12 strips for other side, binding strips
OLFA 45 mm Rotary Cutter & mat
Creative Grids basic ruler
Applique Pressing Sheet
Bring your sewing machine and a cotton thread (like Presencia or Mettler) you want to top stitch on your placemats
Walking foot for your machine
Home and Away Steam Iron or you can use one in the shop.

To prepare before coming to class:
Cut strips according to pattern for the style you have chosen.
    For fabric cuts, add 1/2“ to the length  (if says 2 ½ x 14, cut 2 ½ x 14 1/2)
    For fusible cuts, add ¼” to the length (if says 2 ½ x 14, cut 2 ½ x 14 ¼)
                        (if says 2 x 14, cut 2 x 14 1/4)
    Cut binding strips as well.
