Begin and finish a quilt in this 8-week class designed for the beginner! In this series, we'll learn how to piece a quilt by machine, fabric tips and cutting tricks, rotary cutting, block assembly, borders, quilting your quilt, and binding -- successfully finishing your first quilt.

Quilt As You Go - Barb Krieg

The point of Quilt As You Go is to build the whole quilt in manageable pieces so you can quilt your quilt on a domestic machine. This 2-day class will show you 4 techniques in constructing quilts. We will cover quilting your blocks with hands on experiences in class the first session. The second session will cover sewing them all together in a finished project. It's easier than you think. Be sure to get the Supply list as there is some prep work before class. Bring a lunch! Quilting is hungry work.

Conquer Your Serger - Jenni Miller

Windsong Block of the Month

The Windsong BOM by Wing and a Prayer Design uses 13 specially-chosen fabrics that represent the colors of the seasons. Traditional piecing techniques are used in making this 108" square quilt. The quilt blocks were created and colored to represent the warm and cool tones of nature, giving quilters the chance to see how a simple change in color can affect the block appearance.

Not Your Basic Blue Bag - Betsy Russell

Choose one of three sizes for this fun quilted bag, aka the "IKEA bag." The small size is great for running errands or library trips, the medium is great for fabric shopping excursions or carrying show & tell quilts, and the large original size will hold 4 Artbin storage boxes - great for quilt retreats. This bag is perfect for large scale prints (like Kaffe), non-directional fabrics work best. The pattern calls for leather straps, but Betsy will show you how to make fabric handles so the bag is completely washable and we'll add a fun faux piped binding. Extra details are noted in Supply List for handle fabric amounts.
