Begin and finish a quilt in this 8-week class designed for the beginner! In this series, we'll learn how to piece a quilt by machine, fabric tips and cutting tricks, rotary cutting, block assembly, borders, quilting your quilt, and binding -- successfully finishing your first quilt.

Dog days of summer have your kids climbing the walls? Here's the perfect activity to get them out of the house and spend some time learning together! (AND it's air conditioned!) It's the perfect opportunity to introduce your grandchildren to sewing as well! This four-day camp is for kids ages 8-12, and an accompanying adult. Crumb Quilts - Barb Krieg

In this two-day class, you will learn the basics of making "crumb cloth" from your tiny scraps of fabric. In the second class, Barb will show you how to use all the beautiful new fabric you've created.

If you already know how to sew and/or quilt, but are intimidated by sewing your own clothes, then this is your class! This six week course will take you from the terms and techniques of reading a pattern, all the way through to the completion of your garment! We will learn how to measure your body correctly, and translate that to the pattern; we will also learn some very simple pattern alterations to make your top fit. We will be making the Patina Blouse by Friday Pattern Co. This pattern will give you a little of each of the basic techniques you need to know for sewing your own clothing. When you are finished, you can feel confident with any garment pattern!

At Project Linus, a non-profit organization, they provide new handmade blankets to children in need. Their blankets are lovingly made by makers like you! Grab your latest charity project and come sew with us! Prairie Point is not a designated Project Linus drop off location. Though, during the hours of this charity sew, you are more than welcome to drop off your blankets to the Project Linus representative, Renee Comfort, for donation.

Join us for our three-day quilting retreats at Prairie Point Quilt & Fabric Shop each month! Spend time away from home sewing for hours and visiting with friends. Bring your meals or plan to eat out. And don't forget your sewing supplies and projects -- or we'll help you start something new!
