This class is an introduction to garment sewing for anyone who has never sewn garments before or if you haven’t sewn in a long time and want a refresher. You will learn how to read a pattern, learn terminology and symbols on the pattern, lay out pattern pieces and cutting, find a seam allowance, construct a garment with sleeves and collar, pressing, and more. Buttonholes will be optional. The pattern selected is simple and does not include every technique you will need to know, but enough to get you started on simple patterns to begin making your own clothes.

Please know how to use your sewing machine and be comfortable with it.
